The Artist

The survival of our society is sadly dependent on the vicious cycle of acquiring and disposing meaningless objects. And this overwhelming overflow of "images and stuff" has not only hurt our values and perceptions but also our environment. Tons of waste are daily disposed into landfills, yet we seldom stop to question how our smallest habits negatively impact our surroundings. Reusing and recycling are quite familiar topics today, and those practices have become ever more widespread as opportunity for design and expression alone.

In frustration with the amount of junk mail collected from her mailbox, Eloa Jane started searching for ways to recycle all that paper. Within her artistic mindset, Eloa Jane began to transform those empty pages into beautiful compositions of color and texture. In her paper art, Eloa Jane reuses office paper, ads magazines, newspapers, phone books, and even coffee filters not only for the sake of recycling alone, but also in a manner to investigate how the inherited properties of the recycled paper, such as different textures, colors, and word patterns can offer unique qualities for expression and design.
Eloa Jane practiced architecture and urban planning for more than 20 years in her home country and has been painting for almost 40 years, but it was not until moving to the US in 2005 sthat he found this new beginning in paper art. In 2006 .
